SAGAPONACK SCHOOL NEWS

On Wednesday, September 7^th, we welcomed five new 1^st graders, and thirteen returning students 2^nd-4^th grades. The children have already started their enrichment activities with a new Music Teacher, Mr. Matthew Sikorski  and Mrs. Terri Doyle, our Art Teacher. Ms. Martine Louis has also begun Spanish classes. The children will be learning Spanish three times per week.  

 

We would like to welcome Mrs. Maria DiScipio, our new School Nurse! Mrs. DiScipio will be giving health lessons to the children once a month. This month the students will be learning good hygiene and how important it is to wash their hands!

 

The Sagaponack students and teachers were treated the 1^st week of school with birthday lunches provided by Mrs. Yuka Silvera.. Thank you very much for the delicious pasta  lunch and cupcakes!

 

The children made their first visit to the Hamptons Library on Thursday, September 22 ^nd. Once a month the children will visit the library. Ms. Emily Herrick, the Librarian, had the children participate in a story-time activity about teamwork and cooperation. After the lesson, the students were able to take books out of the library.

 

 Picture Day will be on Wednesday, September 28 ^th.  All of the children will have their individual pictures taken along with a class group photo outside by Pixel Studios. 

 

Our first  Site Base Meeting is scheduled for  Thursday, September 29^th. We will discuss topics such as, the election of a new facilitator and note taker for the 2011-12 school year, emergency chain, meeting dates, etc. All Sagg School parents are welcome to come to this informative meeting.

 

 

A look ahead:

We will not have class on Friday, October 7^th due to a Superintendents Day. School will be closed on Monday, October 10^th for the Columbus Day Holiday. Classes will resume on Tuesday, October 11^th.

 

The next scheduled Board Meeting will be on WEDNESDAY, October 19^th @ 7:00 p.m.
